Come join the Club!
Membership in the Claremont Cycle Depot Bike Club is open to anyone and everyone interested in bicycle riding. Age or ability doesn’t matter, we have active members in their teens and in their sixties. And of course nearly every age in between. Some members just like to get together for a social ride on the weekends, while others will travel all over New England (and beyond) to compete. If a nice summer (or spring, fall or even winter) day makes you want to ride your bike, you’re our type of person.
So why join a club? Here are a few of the benefits of membership:
Save Money
Everybody likes to save money, especially when participating in a relatively expensive activity like cycling. As a Club member you will receive:
- 15% discount off the regular price of parts, accessories and labor at Claremont Cycle Depot (located at the Amtrak station in Claremont, NH).
- special discounts on Club clothing, manufactured by Verge. This includes cycling jerseys, shorts, jackets and other cycling apparel.
- free use of bicycle transportation bags and boxes, suitable for ground or air shipping.
- participation in special purchase programs from time to time.
Racing Incentives
If you race, you know that it can be expensive. Training for racing is hard enough without worrying about entry fees. Here’s how being a Club member can help:
- pro-rated reimbursement of race entry fees for road, mountain and triathlon competitions. Details. The reimbursement form is here.
- pro-rated portion of Depot Bux for performance in sanctioned events. Details
- discounted entry fee for the Claremont Training Race Series on Tuesday nights at Twin State Speedway.
And of course, you’ll usually find another Club member to help share traveling expenses to that out-of-town race or to the Thursday night points series at New Hampshire International Speedway.
Group Rides
While it’s sometimes preferable, or even necessary, to ride alone, most people enjoy riding with others. Claremont Cycle Depot Bike Club has a number of regularly scheduled group rides for both roadies and off-road riders. You never have to search for someone to ride with; Club members will be there for each of the scheduled rides. Scheduled rides are described here.
Social Events
You’ll probably make life-long friends with at least a few Club members, and Club social events are just the place to get to know people better. In addition to an annual banquet held at a local restaurant, each year several Club members hold a group ride followed by a potluck meal. All Club members are invited to participate in the group ride, the meal or both.
How To Join Us
Joining the Claremont Cycle Depot Bike Club is simple. You can find a membership application here. Or you can pick up one at the store or at any of the regularly scheduled group rides.
