Depot Bux Racing Incentive Program

The following criteria must be met for members to receive Depot Bux:

• Club membership dues must be paid for the current year.
• The club member must hold a current USA Cycling license.
• The current Claremont Cycle Depot Bike Club cycling jersey must be worn during the competition.
• Only sponsorship logos for current club sponsors are allowed.
• Events must be sanctioned by a regional or national body,
• The club member must submit a completely filled out monthly race reimbursement form to the club treasurer by the 5th day of the month following the month during which the competition occurred.
• The club member must make a significant contribution to the planning and/or execution of one or more club-promoted race. If there are extenuating circumstances, which make it impossible for the member to assist in a race, the club officers may authorize an alternative means for the club member to fulfill the requirement of service to the club.

Depot Bux

Each year, the Claremont Cycle Depot Bike Club earmarks sufficient resources to reward racers for participation and top 10 finishes in sanctioned bike races. This incentive reward is given to club members in the form of vouchers for merchandise at Claremont Cycle Depot. The total monetary value of the vouchers during recent years has been $1500.

Depot Bux Points are earned by members of the bike club by participation in sanctioned bicycle races from January 1st through October 1st.

• 1 point is awarded for participation in a sanctioned bicycle race
• In races with 10 or more racers competing, 1 to 10 additional points are awarded for placing in the top 10; with 1 additional point being awarded for 10th place, 2 additional points awarded for 9th place, etc., and 10 additional points awarded for 1st place.
• In races with 5 or fewer racers competing, 1 to 5 additional points are awarded for placing in the top 5; with 1 additional point being awarded for 5th place, 2 additional points awarded for 4th place, etc., and 5 additional points awarded for 1st place.
• Double points are awarded for State or Regional Championship Events.
• Triple points are awarded for National Championship Events.
• In stage races, one point is earned for each stage in which the racer competes and double points are awarded for overall General Classification standing (i.e. 2 for 10th place, 4 for 9th place, etc., and 20 for 1st place).

Depot Bux vouchers are distributed at the annual fall banquet. The value of each Depot Bux Point is determined by dividing the total monetary value by the sum of the points earned by all members.
