Racing format, scoring, and prizes:
- Determining nightly placings:
- Points awarded every 5 laps, bell rings when single digit on lap card is 6 or 1.
- Points awarded to top 5 places on each point sprints lap: 1st - 5pts, 2nd - 4pts,
3rd - 3pts, 4th - 2pts, 5th - 1pt.
- Half-way and final sprint laps are worth double points.
- Laps always take precidence over points, see USCF Rules below.
- Nightly placings are determined by adding points earned by competitors during
each sprint. Tie-breaking procedures follow the USCF Rules outlined below.
- Determining monthly placings:
During the months of June, July, and August, overall monthly placings are determined by
the summation of points awarded for each rider's placing during each nightly event.
Points for each nightly event are awarded as follows: 1st - 15pts, 2nd - 13pts,
3rd - 11pts, 4th - 10pts, 5th - 8pts, 6th - 7pts, 7th - 6pts, 8th - 5pts, 9th - 3pts,
10th - 1pt.
- Prizes:
- Primes are awarded on laps specified by the ringing of a bell and
notification from the race announcer.
- Limited nightly and/or monthly prizes for overall placings are
awarded at the discretion of the race promoter. These will be
indicated by the promoter at the start of each event.
- Disclaimer - Scoring a points race on a 1/4 mile oval is very challenging. Decisions
made by individuals scoring the race regarding all aspects of the event will take
precidence over the any of the rules and/or procedures discussed herein.
