Trek 7200

Trek Navigator

The Navigator series gives the ultimate in cycling comfort. Its upright riding position and higher handlebars make biking a breeze. It has ergonomic, soft grips that help reduce strain and fatigue, and a saddle that invites you to ride in comfort.

Specialized Expedition

Rides are easier when you're on a bike that puts you in a comfortably upright position, and more fun when your machine is as easy to use as a pencil and as dependable as a yellow cab. Ride with friends or family on a bike path or on the beach, or cruise in equal comfort on a gravel road. Enjoy the ride!

Like being a kid again. With an upright riding position and cushy contact points, the Crossroads is the only bike you need. A quick trip to the store, a spin with a friend, even a longer ride on the weekend. Whatever it is, the Crossroads makes every ride as fun and relaxing as it was when you were a kid.

About comfort bikes

Comfort bikes are designed for casual riding and having fun. This is just the type of bike you want if you're not interested in speed, or going places where no bike has gone before. You just want to go out, maybe with the family, and get a little fresh air and some exercise. Modern "comfort" bikes are based on the old "cruiser" bike, with modern technology added to make riding easier. They have:

an upright riding position with higher handlebars
a wider, softer saddle
multiple gears (except for "cruisers") with a wide range from "high" to "low"

These are a few varieties of comfort bikes:

Hybrid bikes

Hybrid bikes are basically a hardtail mountain bike mixed with a road bike. The gearing may be a slightly closer range than a full off-road bike might have, but wider than a road bike. The bike's frame is designed for road size wheels, and usually has tires without as deep a tread as mountain-bike tires. You might use such a bike for casual riding on paved or dirt roads or for commuting.

Cruiser bikes

This is the bike that many of us had when we were younger. This is the only modern type of bike with "coaster" brakes and only one gear. The fat tires are great for soft surfaces, so many people call these bikes "beach bikes". It usually comes with front and rear fenders and a chainguard to protect your clothing. Older bikes of this type are quite collectable if they're in good shape.
